Home Ownership

The spring should not look like this...

The garage door still isn't fixed. Let me tell you what has happened so far.

1. As I asked my good neighbor to help me open the door manually when I got home from work, he looked at it and said that I could buy a new spring and he could help fix it.
2. I bought a new spring for the price of 21.49 at the local hardware store.
3. He along with another good neighbor fixed it while Josh was at work and Lady was in her kennel. I sipped a beer.
4. Two days later, it didn't open. I had to manually open it with Lady trying to get in on the action.
5. First good neighbor is out of town on a work trip. Damn.
6. Josh is at work, and I can't do anything about the door. I call All American Garage Door Co. recommended from my Mother. (who recently had a new door put in)
7. Corey comes to service the door. He says he is going to try something, I drink coffee.
8. I get handed a bill for 153.00. The new spring (which has rust on in) cost 69.00. Okay. The garage door is fixed, whatever, I don't have to deal anymore.
9. I pay with a check.
10. An hour later I have a fence company come and give me a quote so we can take Lady off her leash and let her run free in the yard.
11. 8 hours later, the door won't close. Josh has to push the button 3 times, after I had already 'closed' the door.
12. Next morning (this morning) Josh called the MPLS company and left them a strong message. I told Josh he called the wrong one, I had used the St. Paul company. He called them.
13. A new service guy is coming tonight at 5pm. Josh will be home to deal with him. I will sip a beer.
14. The joy of home ownership.

Secondary note: Josh and I will not be getting a fence this fall. We will however, be buying an electric 'shock' fence this week. Hopefully to be installed Sunday morning.

Third note: Will someone please hire me... I need a break from all day Lady watching... my hands are for sure not ready for any modeling...

Lady thinks that she is a lap dog. She is not going to be for much longer. This was last Friday when I got home from park. She barely fit!
