A New Direction



I am extremely excited to start this new direction.

For the past year I have been struggling with an allergy to corn, which I didn't fully understand until about eight months ago. I have been so careful to watch almost everything that enters my body, and feeling really sad the whole time. There is a corn product in almost everything. I thought I was being healthy drinking a Gatorade, nope, there is high fructose corn syrup in it.How about a strawberry-kiwi yogurt, nope, there is corn syrup in it. The next time you are making something, drinking something, buying something, take a look at it - and I bet there is corn in it!

The other day as my Mom was watching Oprah, she found something that she thought would interest me. Alicia Silverstone was on the show to discuss her new book and the lifestyle she is now living. My Mother then bought me The Kind Diet, which is a lifestyle layout. After reading three chapters I am no longer going to eat meat. I am going to try a plant based diet which I believe my body is intended to consume.

I am going to try* to become healthier.

After reading the majority of this book, I know that too many connections were made to not try the vegan diet. I am happy to find a possible solution. I am scared to give up meat. I am paranoid that my friends and family will think I'm nuts. But the best part about this whole trip is that my Husband is behind me 100%. Will he give up meat, nope, at least not yet. But he agreed to trying any and everything I make at least once.. and if he doesn't like it he can make his own steak on the grill!

Tonight after Lacrosse practice, and after stopping to check in on my Mom, I plan on going to Whole Foods and try a new meal!
